This is How I Did it...
You have probably read my story.
I was born by a very poor cocoa farmer and grew up in a village call Oyi-Adio (Osun State, Nigeria).
The village where I grew up looked (exactly) like this;
Not just that.
I was born with an unusual Genotype (SC) that made me to be a sickly boy.
I had to fall sick with rheumatism about twice every month, spending days on the sick bed.
I was like this;
However, one day when I was around age 13, I asked myself;
"Why is it that everyone is talking about being an employee?"
I was in the Junior High School (J.S.S) 2 that year yet, I was wondering;
"Why should I work for another man all my life"?
"Why can't I work for myself?"
Around this time, I've started a corn selling business.
I would go and buy raw corns, roast and sell it after school hours.
I would buy corns of around ₦500-1,000 and make extra ₦500-1,000 profit.
I and my friends also started another business.
We would wake up early in the morning (whenever it rained in our town) to pack sand in drainages around us.
We would then sell the sand to people who wanted to build house.
When I was around 15 years old, I started my first major business.
It was a bicycle renting business and I started making money.
What I did was, I bought a bicycle for ₦2,500, so after school or on weekends, I would take my bicycle to a field where my mates would rent my bicycle and give me ₦10 for 10 minutes or ₦20 for 20 minutes.
I was making money from my age mates and I loved it.
At 16, I sold my bicycle renting business and started a photography business.
I would take photos of my school mates at the break time and at sport events, collect ₦ 50 from them for each copy and print each copy for ₦18 or ₦20 (making profit of ₦30 on each copy).
I loved the fact that I was making money (from my age mates)
At age 18, I have started 4 different businesses of my own
When I was around age 19, I became a share holder in the EcoBank of Nigeria by acquiring few shares in the bank.

Between age 19-21 I devoted myself into CRAZY reading of about 250 books written by entrepreneurs and successful people.
When I was 21, six months and one day, I left school as one of the best students and decided NEVER to collect my certificate from school.
I was offered to work for the Skye Bank of Nigeria but I rejected the offer
Though I had no money, even as my family and friends wanted to "help" me to get a job I told them, "No, I want to build my own company"
My family thought I was crazy.
Most of my friends thought I was wasting my time.
With only 8,500 (around 20 dollars) with me I went fully into the business world on Thursday, 24th of July, 2008.
Let me tell you the truth.
It was not easy,
but I did it.

You know something?
I'm not here today because I was born lucky
I'm not here because anyone gave me capital to start business (as you've read in my story)
I'm here today because I know what most people don't know about how to discover business opportunities in Africa,
how to get capital you need and how to build successful business
People who complain that the reason why they cannot start their own business is because they don't have anyone or government to help them are only giving excuses
If you think the reason why you cannot start your own business is because you don't have capital, it's because you don't know what you don't have
What you don't have is not capital.

I didn't have capital either.
But I learned how to get it from people who have it and I got it again and again since I've been in the business world.

I'm NOT saying it's easy to start a company and make it successful but I'm saying it's easier than working all your life for another man, only to retire poor.
Most things I see in Africa make me angry and I think someone has to stand up and do something about it.
I think you have to stop complaining about the government who doesn't really care about you.
(Whether you're in Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Ghana or any other country in Africa, no government cares about you)
I also think Africans have to stop the stupidity of thinking they can be rich by getting "good jobs"

Few months ago I was with two of my friends and I was telling them about how the Lagos State Government needed the service of my company
and they were going to pay me ₦400,000 (about one thousand two hundred dollars) for just 2-4 hours of "work".
Because my friends are employees they were surprised.

I can make money without leaving my office because I have employees and partners in more than 21 states of Nigeria so,
I don’t necessarily have to work before I make good money.
I can simply place a call to any state of Nigeria and ask any of my guys to get the work done for my company.
I pay my employees and partners for their works.
I go home with a big share, make my wife happy, send money to my old mother, smile and enjoy life.
I was in a meeting with one of our American based clients in March, 2018. My company would be working with him and we're likely to charge him about #500,000.
Do you think I will have to work like hell to get this client's serviced?
No!
All I have to do is to send some people to represent my company.
I have people whose work is to get the work done for my company.
My company receives more than 2,000 calls and e-mails from potential clients and customers every month.
These calls and mails come from different countries of the world.
The good thing is, I have employees to answer these calls and attend to these clients.
My company sells and renders expensive services all across Nigeria and beyond and I rarely travel out of Lagos.
How is this possible?
It’s easy for me to do business and make money from different parts of the country because I have employees and partners whose job is to get the work done for me.
This way, I can send different people to different states to represent my company, make a lot of money and have my freedom
No one tells me when to resume to work
I don’t have to wake-up in the morning to run to work
No one tells me when to close from work
In fact, if I wake up tomorrow and decide to go and spend the next one month in another state, no one can question me.
But, why is this possible for me?
No. Not because I’m more brilliant than you.

How Do A.B.U Students Receive Lectures?
As a student of the Africa Business University, you'll have a unique Password and Username that allows you to login to the university's portal, just as you login to Facebook, WhatsApps, Twitter, etc.
You can login to the university's portal at anytime (just the way you log in to your Facebook profile)
When you log in to the portal, you'll see your courses (as at that day) in the portal.
You can take the courses or download the audio formats of the courses.
I'm Very Busy & Don't Have Time During The Week, How Can I Cope With the A.B.U?
That's NOT a problem at all because, from the day you join the A.B.U, our system automatically send your courses to your portal (as at when due) and they will NOT be deleted for as long as you're A.B.U student.
So, even if it's only Sundays or any other days you have the time, simply login and you'll meet your courses in your portal

What is the "Portal Fee"?
Portal fee is a token fee every student of the A.B.U pays to maintain the university's portal, pay the university's technical and administrative staff who work to ensure smooth running of the portal, content royalties
and other things that make the university goes on smoothly and to reach out to other Africans out there, in order to get them in to this collective vision of the African entrepreneurial revolution.
To join the A.B.U's paid scheme, the fees are:

You'll only pay for the portal fee, which is a token $11 per month.
$11 is just #3,997 in Nigeria which is just a token #134 per day.
Why Do Scholarship Students Pay a Portal Fee?
Our paid students will pay #21,000 as school fee and #3,997 as portal fee, making #24,997 ($69) every month to be in the A.B.U but the scholarship students won't have to pay the school fee.
However, scholarship students have to pay for the portal fee because keeping the A.B.U going involves so many expenses. The university has to pay our administrative staff, technical staff, for the portal maintainance, content royalty, reaching out to other Africans, etc.
These expenses runs to be millions of Naira every months and we pay all these expenses from the portal fee because we don't engage any big donor to back the A.B.U project because we want to have control over what happens at the university.
If you join the paid scheme, your school fee is a profit for us. But if you join the scholarship, we DON'T make any profit from you because you won't pay any school fee.
The token $11/month you'll pay monthly for six months is the portal fee, which is to make sure that the A.B.U portal is alive and smoothly running.
